Are you at risk of re-injury?
Studies show that 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐨 𝟒𝟎% of athletes at all levels are at risk of re-injury or chronic injuries if they are not properly rehabilitated*
Most athletic/sports-related injuries are multifaceted and require a global approach.
Would you rather go to a mechanic that changes your oil but doesn’t mention or fix your malfunctioning engine? Of course not! Keeping that thought process in mind, treatment of injuries deserve an evaluation and treatment plan of not only the affected area, but also the joints above, below and other surrounding structures. Rehabilitating the right knee without considering the left knee, ankles, hips, or back can lead to reoccurrence of the same injury or second injury to the knee 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐦𝐚𝐲 𝐛𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭.
How do you know if your injury has not been properly rehabilitated?
-You have been using a stability device (e.g. braces) for months-years after initial injury
-You have been using home devices (e.g. foam rollers, massage devices, and tens units) for pain and not recovery
-Inefficient home stretches
-You use ice/heat for months to years after initial injury to help with recurrent pain, swelling or reduced range of motion
